Looking to upgrade your gear? Here’s 8 great pieces of kit for your consideration.

Mystery Ranch All-In Deployment Bag (Intl)

Mystery Ranch calls their All-In Deployment Bag a rolling closet, and they’re not kidding. At 42 by 21 by 17 inches, or 160 liters, you can stuff it with a ton of gear. It features two movable Velcro dividers plus numerous zippered compartments inside to organize your crap. There are compression straps inside and out to keep your load tidy, with straps and handles galore to drag it, move it, or throw it over your shoulder.

Between a removable wheeled frame with monstrous wheels and reinforced construction throughout, the bag is built to take punishment transiting the globe, as you’d expect from Mystery Ranch. While it was originally designed for service members to deploy to far-flung locales, we love to pack it with hunting gear, roll it out to the truck, and throw it in the bed — it keeps your stuff organized nicely, and you can work out of the bag. The “Intl” version shown here is made in Vietnam; you can opt for a U.S.-made one for an additional $125.

Duck Camp Rockport Hoodie

Stripping down when it’s hot and sunny isn’t ideal in the field. Exposed skin will burn — not to mention become open season for mosquitos and other biters. That’s why we’re fans of the Rockport Hoodie from Duck Camp. This lightweight, long-sleeve shirt will cover most of your upper torso while keeping you cool at the same time. That’s because it’s made of Brrr Polyester, a proprietary fabric that’s comfy and quick drying. Plus, it offers integrated thumb loops, UPF 50+ sun protection, and an overlap hood for added coverage. Though it doesn’t come in camo patterns, this hoodie is great for outdoor pursuits, such as hiking, fishing, or yard work. And it’s even great for just a casual night out.

CRKT Soldotna Fixed

Far too many blades are made by folks who just want their creations to look cool. Fortunately, there are still some designers who know how to combine form with function, because they actually know how to use the tools they make. Russ Kommer falls into that latter category. This longtime knifemaker is also a professional fishing and hunting guide, and his real-life experience shows in his latest creation, the CRKT-exclusive Soldotna. It features a 3.48-inch blade made of 1095 carbon steel (so it’s sharp, resilient, and tough as nails) and comes with a bespoke leather sheath. The handle features Micarta scales, which are grippy and strong. Made in collaboration with TOPS Knives in the USA, the Soldotna is elegant in its simplicity yet fierce in its performance.

MSRP: $200

Wolfpack Armory Night Howler Flash Hider; Low Profile HUB Adapter (Plan B)

While directly attaching your suppressor to your hunting rifle is simple and light, there are advantages to using a quick-detach system. Suppressors aren’t cheap, so this allows you to easily use one can on multiple firearms. Plus, it’s easy to remove your silencer for transport or storage. There’s a slight penalty in weight and overall length, but the “Plan B” standard is becoming ever more popular as a simple, light, and compact taper mount with growing aftermarket support.

Wolfpack Armory’s Plan B-compatible Night Howler flash hider and HUB adapter deliver exactly that. Black nitrided and made of 17-4 stainless, they’re low profile, light, and affordable. They have flats and notches, respectively, so you can also properly wrench on them.

American Defense Manufacturing Vortex Tripod Head Adapter (ARCA Swiss Rail or Picatinny Rail)

When taking a shot, it’s important to have a stable foundation. Borrowing from the photography world, shooters have increasingly adopted tripods as valuable shooting supports.

Well-known for their excellent quick-detach products, American Defense Manufacturing offers several mounts to attach your rifle to tripods and bipods. ADM made an adapter specifically for Vortex Optics’ popular tripods to attach their mounts directly to the tripod head. You can choose between kits bundled with an ARCA Swiss or Picatinny mount. ADM’s QD levers are adjustable and have locking tabs. The ARCA version is designed so that you can loosen the throw lever and slide it back and forth to reposition your gun without falling off of the rail entirely.
